Good article. In short, conclusory language I think that culture trumps economics every time. Liberals' weakness now is that their view seems limited to economic issues. Take money out of the equation, and liberals don't have much of a position.
Here's a trite but compelling exchange I read a long time ago:
A said, "Communism can put a new suit on a man." B replied, "Jesus can put a new man in the suit."
