A new faith community
I've been getting a vibe lately about what I want to do with my divinity school education, and it is this: start a new church. But not actually a church, more like a faith community--people who get together and have fun and useful worship services, and develop good relationships with each other.

But I think I'd like it to not be exactly like your usual run-o-the-mill church, and would want to do things like use popular music, and maybe support people as missionaries in social-justice type work. I don't know, exactly, but I think that church is a good place to be, but that sometimes it's easy to be distracted from spiritual things by church things. Maybe we can find a way to do it differently. I'd like to start a community that does these three things:

Helps people be loving, open, and generous
Helps people fight for social justice
Helps people have a deep spiritual connection with God

A Christian community helping people grow.
